Since completing the Ravelry 10 shawls in 2010 challenge, I’ve been looking for something to challenge myself in 2011. Nothing on Rav seemed to catch my fancy, until Becky at fantasticmio.com came up with the idea of 11 Blankets in 2011. Everyone needs to keep warm, right?? And they make the perfect gift for babies, which seem to pop up quite often… So, here’s the start of a list for my 11 Blankets in 2011 Challenge:
1. Sweetheart Ripple by Kim Guzeman. This will be for a friend back home whose baby is due in May. However, Mom & Dad are visiting at the end of the month, so I want to have it finished so they can take it home with them. (Yikes, as I also have three more things due before they arrive. I may have to just pay the postage…)
2. Oddly Linked Blanket by fantasticmio.
3. Baby Snuggle with Sleeves: do slankets count??
4. Swirls Tunisian Baby Blanket by Kim Guzeman
5. Eventually Granny by fantasticmio
6. Sam’s Coming Home Blanket which didn’t get finished in time – he’s almost 7 months old…
7. Another stash-buster, probably involving the 3 colour Tunisian technique
Warning! I may not do these in this order, or at all, and I may change my mind at any time and frequently.
Although I’m actively trying not to make new year resolutions, I am going to try to blog more on this site, hence setting the challenge up here.
So, the {soft and squooshy} gauntlet has been thrown down. Who’s going to join us??
